How Absen LED Displays Work
Understanding the components of an LED wall helps you plan your investment:
LED Panels (Absen)
The actual display modules that produce the image. Absen manufactures these in various pixel pitches and sizes.
LED Controller (NovaStar/Colorlight)
Converts video signals into data the LED panels understand. Usually sold separately from the panels.
Media Player + CMS Software
The computer that runs your content management system (like PosterBooking) and outputs video to the controller.
Total Cost Consideration: When budgeting for an LED wall, remember to include panels, controller, mounting hardware, installation labor, and ongoing CMS software. Absen provides only the panels—the rest is additional investment.

Absen Troubleshooting & FAQ
Having issues with Absen? Here are solutions to the most common problems users encounter:
First, verify your internet connection is stable. Restart the player device and ensure it's connected to the same network as during setup. Check that no firewall is blocking the connection. If issues persist, try uninstalling and reinstalling the player app, then re-pair with a new pairing code.
Content syncs may take a few minutes depending on file sizes and network speed. Force a sync from your dashboard if available. Verify the correct playlist or channel is assigned to the screen. Check that your content doesn't exceed file size limits. Clear the local cache on the player if the option exists.
This typically indicates a connectivity issue or corrupted content. Restart the player device and check your internet connection. Verify that all media files in your playlist are in supported formats. Remove any recently added content to isolate the problematic file.
Visit the login page and click "Forgot Password". Enter the email associated with your account and check your inbox for a reset link. If you don't receive the email within a few minutes, check your spam folder. Contact support if you still can't access your account.
Check that your display's audio output is properly configured and not muted. Verify that your video files contain audio tracks. In the Absen settings, ensure audio playback is enabled for your screen. Some player devices may require separate audio configuration.
From your dashboard, navigate to Screens or Devices section and click "Add Screen". Each additional screen may require a license depending on your subscription plan. Repeat the pairing process for each new device. Consider organizing screens into groups for easier management.
The Bottom Line
Absen manufactures excellent LED hardware, from fine pixel pitch displays to large-format outdoor screens. As one of the world's largest LED manufacturers, they offer competitive pricing and global support. However, remember that LED panels are just one piece of the puzzle—you'll also need a controller, media player, installation, and CMS software. PosterBooking provides the content management piece completely free.
Our recommendation: If you need enterprise-grade features and have the budget, Absen may be worth considering. For businesses seeking a cost-effective, full-featured alternative, PosterBooking offers comparable capabilities at no cost.
